Regarding this point, I have the depth experience. Because is an intern, therefore the company cannot invest too many resources to you. 1 introduction
the intention of this study is to explore possible advantages of descriptive translation studies as in its application in translation practice and translation analysis.
since early 20th century, translation studies gradually broke away from the marginal status within other related disciplines and established itself as an empirical science. from then on, schools of thought have kept coming out and each claims its legitimacy for existence. among these schools is descriptive translation studies (dts).
dts approaches translation from an empirical perspective. translation is viewed to be a social activity having significant importance in the receiving culture and for the target community. therefore, translation is dealt with beyond the linguistic realization and language comparison, and is incorporated in social and cultural context.
my attention was first directed to dts by its peculiar characteristic of observation, description and explanation. the subject is whatever happens in translation practice, from the determination of prospective function of translation to the process of translator’s choice of strategies, brainstorming and the revision, to the final product making appearance in the target community.
the method of dts is basically descriptive. the prescriptive tendency and the problem-solution pattern is abandoned. translation phenomena are noted down. with accumulated data, some underlying truths about translation will come out which will prove to be instructive not only for theoretical probe but also for applied translation practice. i will apply this descriptive method in the case study of this thesis.
a convenient tool has been set up to conduct dts. “norm” is operative at every stage of description and explanation. function, process and product and their relationship as well are skeletal structure of what constitute descriptive studies. translation phenomena are accounted for with the help of norm.
the case taken in this thesis is the chinese classic the dream of red mansions. two english versions translated respectively by yang hsien-yi and david hawks are compared and observations are made in regard to their translation approaches.
in this regard, my observations are limited to several aspects, i hope in-depth observation and explanation will done in light of dts.
2 outline
development and major concepts of dts
in this part i will describe holms’ basic map of dts and the relationship between function, process and product. i will also discuss some important concepts such as pseudo-translation, multiple translation, translationese, norm etc.
methodolgy
i will in this part discuss the methodology of dts before i apply the same to the case study in this thesis with emphasis to be placed on semiotic approach and the concept norm.
dts in contrast to other theories
a contrast study will be conducted here with the objective to find the difference of dts from other theories such as equivalence theory and the chinese xin da ya criteria. some advantage will possibly be shown in this study.
case study
in this part, translation of the dream of red mansions (also translated as the story of the stone) will be under investigation in light of dts. translation samples to be quoted here will be selected at random.
conclusion
based on the above elaboration of dts and the case study, possible conclusion will be on the advantage of dts in specific study of translation. suggestions on further research efforts will be made also.

比赛之前老师布置了演讲题目——《MyFamily》《Myself》《MyRoom》等，同学可以任选其一，也可以自拟题目。然后确定了参赛人选范围。
参赛同学积极准备，没有参赛的同学积极配合，提前布置比赛现场，并且比赛中的各个环节分工细致，为比赛的顺利进行奠定了基础。
在此次的比赛中，我们设定了严格的评分标准，并且抽签选定了十位评委。每位选手的分数都是现场公布，做到了“公开、公平、公正”的原则。
虽然初一学生刚刚步入初中几个月的时间，但是，看到同学们认真的准备，富有表情的演讲，给了自己很多欣慰。这次演讲比赛不但给了同学们一个综合能力锻炼的好机会，也是对我“听、说”教学的一次检验。同时也给自己的英语教学提供了反思的机会。

I work there for 20 days then I left because of Olympic Games in China. So I lost, that seems God always take good care of me, one of my supervisor in TTLV recommended a good job to me after I lost a few days, that was my third job in that vacation. I was an interpreter and I was in charge of communication with foreign friends there. I worked there for 30 days, I got 1500RMB which was my first time to earn so much money by myself in my lifetime.
In the following winter vacation I went back to TTLV. I was in the same position there, but different students and different teachers, so I made new friends, I got along with my foreign teachers and I improved my English a lot, especially, Brad who is an American, so well we got along with each other that he went back to my hometown with me to celebrate Spring Festival with my family, he spent 3 days with my family of course I was the only interpreter between my family and Brad.
In this summer vacation, Customized English Services which is a new comprehensive English service in Shijiazhuang was founded by Brad. I was lucky to be selected by him. Now I am working with him to assist him to do office work and establish business relationship with new clients.

小学英语说的教学要在听的基础上开展。开始时让学生尽量多听，听清楚了再模仿着说，只有听得仔细，模仿得认真，才可能说准、说好。在练习中教师除通过示范读音、演示口型、点明发音要领外，还可采用渗透国际音标，使学生及时领悟、反复实践，从而保证说的质量。

1 introduction
the intention of this study is to explore possible advantages of descriptive translation studies as in its application in translation practice and translation analysis.
since early 20th century, translation studies gradually broke away from the marginal status within other related disciplines and established itself as an empirical science. from then on, schools of thought have kept coming out and each claims its legitimacy for existence. among these schools is descriptive translation studies (dts).
dts approaches translation from an empirical perspective. translation is viewed to be a social activity having significant importance in the receiving culture and for the target community. therefore, translation is dealt with beyond the linguistic realization and language comparison, and is incorporated in social and cultural context.
my attention was first directed to dts by its peculiar characteristic of observation, description and explanation. the subject is whatever happens in translation practice, from the determination of prospective function of translation to the process of translator’s choice of strategies, brainstorming and the revision, to the final product making appearance in the target community.
the method of dts is basically descriptive. the prescriptive tendency and the problem-solution pattern is abandoned. translation phenomena are noted down. with accumulated data, some underlying truths about translation will come out which will prove to be instructive not only for theoretical probe but also for applied translation practice. i will apply this descriptive method in the case study of this thesis.
a convenient tool has been set up to conduct dts. “norm” is operative at every stage of description and explanation. function, process and product and their relationship as well are skeletal structure of what constitute descriptive studies. translation phenomena are accounted for with the help of norm.
the case taken in this thesis is the chinese classic the dream of red mansions. two english versions translated respectively by yang hsien-yi and david hawks are compared and observations are made in regard to their translation approaches.
in this regard, my observations are limited to several aspects, i hope in-depth observation and explanation will done in light of dts.
2 outline
development and major concepts of dts
in this part i will describe holms’ basic map of dts and the relationship between function, process and product. i will also discuss some important concepts such as pseudo-translation, multiple translation, translationese, norm etc.
methodolgy
i will in this part discuss the methodology of dts before i apply the same to the case study in this thesis with emphasis to be placed on semiotic approach and the concept norm.
dts in contrast to other theories
a contrast study will be conducted here with the objective to find the difference of dts from other theories such as equivalence theory and the chinese xin da ya criteria. some advantage will possibly be shown in this study.
case study
in this part, translation of the dream of red mansions (also translated as the story of the stone) will be under investigation in light of dts. translation samples to be quoted here will be selected at random.
conclusion
based on the above elaboration of dts and the case study, possible conclusion will be on the advantage of dts in specific study of translation. suggestions on further research efforts will be made also.

一、调研选题的目的
本人认为：公文是企业上传下达，下情上报，左右通联，交流信息，推进工作的重要工具。它涉及到企业的方方面面，是企业管理的重要内容和体现，同时，它对外也体现着企业的形象，展示企业的管理水平，自然也应是实践科学发展观的应有之义。本次调研的主要目的，对集团公司公文处理的现状有一个基本了解，总结经验，找出不足，为进一步加强完善公文管理提出建设性意见。
二、调研的方法
本次调研主要采取两种办法，一是对有关公文处理人员进行访谈。二是查找有关公文资料。另外，结合了自己平时了解的情况
三、调研结论
通过调研，本人认为，总的来讲，我公司的公文处理及写作是好的。一是从集团公司层面上看，领导是非常重视的，有的公文都是领导亲自起草撰写，大多数都要亲自修改，亲自审定。2、从集团公司上报和下发的文件材料，绝大多数质量还是较高的。但是仍存在一些问题。
1.程序不尽合理。比如，集团公司行文程序，由部门领导根据工作需要，责成有关人员起草—→部门领导审核—→公司分管领导签发—→办公室审稿—→印制 —→下发。这里有一个问题，公司分管领导都签发了，办公室就没有必要再审核了。如果办公室审核时，发现问题，文件还发不发?显然这一程序不尽合理，应改为先由办公室审核后再由领导签发。
2.格式上不对路。在公文处理中，经常发现基层单位和部门草拟的公文格式不对。比如：文体格式不分，随意性强，往往“请示报告”一起写，这是不符合规范的;比如：下发“方案”、“意见”、“计划”、“规定”、“办法”等制度性文件，直接下发，按规范以上文种一般不直接下发，都要用通知发;比如：公司文件基本上没有按_办公厅公文规范要求，印“主题词”、“抄送”、“抄报”等项目;比如：有的公文分不清何种公文该用何格式，想怎么写怎么写，等等。
3.语言文字上不过关。从调研中发现，较多部门的公文语言表述的不严谨、不准确、不到位;逻辑上不合理、不顺畅，甚至有的前后重复，逻辑混乱;“口语”、“书面语”不分，不能规范使用语言文字等等。
4.内容上不到位。从本人审核过的一些文件材料中，可以看出有的文件材料，文不对题，前后重复，比如：一个安全工作的通知，前面写的重要性，后面又重复原话;有的是口吻不对，角度不正，比如：作为公司职能部门代表公司上报材料，往往写成部门的材料仅仅写部门的具体事，站不到公司的层面上考虑问题、撰写材料;有的贯彻上级文件精神的公文，不能结合企业实际，而是照搬照抄比如：有的公文出现“区政府”、“乡镇”等之关的地方组织的词语，就是明显例证。
四、调研分析
之所以产生以上问题，本人分析认为有以下几个原因。

呈报性报告是报告的主体。这类报告以报告工作和汇报工作、反映情况、答复询问为主要内容。由于向上级机关呈报工作情况涉及的内容十分广泛，呈报性报告又可分工作报告、综合报告、专题报告、检查报告等。
(1)工作报告
工作报告，是指党的机关、行政机关、企事业单位和社会团体，按照有关规定，定期或不定期地向上级机关或法定对象汇报工作。汇报的内容，包括过来一段的工作情况和下一段工作部署。比如，党代会、人代会、政协全会上的工作报告，各机关、单位的年度工作报告、阶段性工作报告等。
标题。一般有两级标题，但标题的形式有几种。第一种形式:主标题由报告内容涉及的范围、时间与“工作报告”组成;副标题由破折号加会名(在x x会议上)组成;再下一行标注报告人的职务与姓名。第二种形式:主标题由会名(在x x会上)、报告的主题与“报告”组成。标题之下居中标注报告人姓名。这个报告在会议上通过之后，在标题之下、报告人姓名之上标注作报告的时间和会议通过的时间。第三种形式:工作报告要确定一个主题，并以报告的主题作主标题，副标题由破折号、会议时间、会名与“工作报告”组成，即：“——在x年x月x日x x会议上的工作报告”，在副标题之下居中标注报告人姓名。
正文。工作报告的正文一般由两大部分组成。第一大部分是过来一段的工作总结，第二大部分是下一段的工作部署。工作总结，要实事求是，写作方法不落俗套，抓住主要的、本质的、有代表性的材料，再从感性认识上升到理性认识，成绩、经验和应吸取的教训，一气呵成，浑然一体。工作部署，要抓主要矛盾和主要方面，在国家的总方针、总政策、总计划的指导下，紧密结合本地本单位本组织的实际，坚持民主决策和科学决策，深刻地阐明每一项新的工作的意义、目的、任务和完成任务的要求、方法与措施，应具有挑战性和感召力，能唤起大家的共鸣，以统一思想，提高认识，万众一心，共同奋斗。按照法律规定的工作报告，还要请代表(党代表、人民代表、职工代表等)，或委员们审议、通过，如果代表或委员们有意见和建议，还要对工作报告进行修改，直到会议通过为止。
(2)综合报告
前面讲的工作报告，也是综合报告。这里讲的综合报告，是指向上级机关报告情况、或报告工作情况的综合报告，不是指面向代表或委员们的工作报告。
标题。由发文机关名称、时间与“工作情况综合报告”或“工作情况报告“组成。
正文:由开头、主体、结尾三个部分组成。开头部分，概括地说明全文的主旨，即把本地区本单位各个方面的工作情况，包括工作依据、目的、总的情况和对整个工作的评价等，实事求是地作一个概述。反映成绩和问题，都要实事求是，有喜报喜，有忧报忧，喜忧兼报。主体部分，是综合报告的核心，就各方面的工作进展情况、主要做法、所取得的成绩和经验及存在的问题，一一陈述。在结构安排上，层次要分明，有主有次，可分条(项)陈述，也可分层次陈述;尽量使用综合性的材料和数字说明，做到言简意赅。结尾，写出工作中存在的主要问题，提出下一步工作意见。写问题，不宜太多;提出下一步工作意见可以具体一点。最后另起一段，以“专此报告”或“以上报告如无不妥，请指示”结束全文。
起草综合性报告，还要注意三点:一是突出重点。各方面的情况，不能平衡用力或平铺直叙，每次的报告应有所侧重。二是做好分析。即把各方面的情况收集之后，进行由表及里的分析研究，提炼出事物的本质，找出带规律性的经验和工作方法，以指导今后的工作。三是处理好点与面的关系，做到点面结合。这样的综合报告才有说服力和感召力。
(3)专题报告
专题报告，是指就某一工作或某一工作的某一方面向上级机关汇报。有两种情况:一是按照行政管理工作的特点、规律和有关规定，主动地向上级机关汇报;二是答复上级机关的询问，被动地向上级机关汇报。
标题。由发文机关名称、汇报的主题与“报告”组成。
正文。一般采用三段式结构。主要有以下几种结构形式:一是情况(包括经验)、问题、打算。这种形式，适用于以反映情况为主的专题工作报告。二是“情况、经验、不足(存在的问题)”。这种形式，适用于以总结经验为主的专题工作报告。情况，包括开展工作和进行某一专项工作的依据、工作进展情况、所取得的成效等经验，包括完成某一专项工作任务的做法和所取得经验体会等。情况和经验都可分条陈述。写经验体会，应站在全局的高度，从马克思主义的立场、观点出发，对工作进行全面地分析研究，把带有规律性、普遍性、全局性的做法和经验加以归纳、推理、提炼，使之上升到理性高度，这样，对全局工作才有指导意义。问题，是在分析研究的基础上，抓住存在的带倾向性的主要问题，并把问题讲清楚。如果是专题经验报告，可不写问题或一笔带过。今后的打算，针对存在问题和上级机关的工作部署撰写，做到目标、任务明确，措施得当，保障有力。工作经验专题报告，不写工作打算。
结尾。专题报告的结尾，一般要写结尾专用语，比如，“专此报告。请审核”;“专此报告。请查收”;“专此报告。请指示”等。使用结尾语，要注意报告的内容和掌握好分寸。比如，政策方面的报告，“请审查”;财经、物资方面的报告，“请查收”或“请审查”;一般的工作情况报告，多用“专此报告”结尾。
(4)检查报告
检查报告属专题报告，但写一般的专题报告在正文的内容上和写法上又有所不同。检查报告的正文要写出犯错误的大概情况，发生错误的直接原因和间接原因、主观原因和客观原因，责任在谁，应承担什么样的法律、行政责任，处理的依据和处理情况，整改措施及今后的工作意见等。尚未处理的，要写明处理建议意见。处理建议意见应分清责任大小、问题轻重一一写明，还包括改进工作的意见等。

函的写作格式
函适用于不相隶属机关之间相互商洽工作、询问和答复问题，向有关主管部门请求批准等。
